IGP Worries Over Worsen Baby Racket; Puts Force Chiefs On Alert

The Acting Inspector General of Police, Suleimon Abba has ordered Assistant Inspectors General (AIG’s) and Commissioners (CP’s) of Police and other field Commanders in the country to put measures in place to stem baby hawking in the country.
Abba in a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer at the Abuja headquarters, CP Emmanuel Ojukwu, noted the incident of babies racketing has reached an alarming level, therefore urged the chief security officers across the country to monitor closely, activities of all motherless Homes and Centres in their domains, in order to put stop to the infamous act.
The Police boss called on members of the public to provide the Force with information that would assist it in addressing the heinous crime.
The Abia Police Command Monday paraded in Aba, two nurses and four pregnant women suspects, whose baby hawking centre is used as hospital.
