IGP Orders “Water-Tight” Security At Sensitive Points Ahead of Elections
Featured, Latest Headlines, News, Nigeria 2015 Election Thursday, March 19th, 2015The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Suleimon Abba has directed a water – tight security around all key and vulnerable points across the country.
In a statement issued Thursday, by the Force Public Relations Officer, in the Force Headquarters, Abuja, Ag. CP Emmanuel Ojukwu, indicated that the marked locations include: Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps; Media Houses; Service Providers Installations; INEC headquarters and centres; Banks; hospitals, NYSC lodges, Hotels, Government offices and among others.
The measure, IGP Abba explained became imperative in a bid to ward off any likely attempt by hoodlums as well as men of underworld to attack these installations and public places.
He enjoined members of the public to remain steadfast in collaborating with officers and men of the Nigeria Police to stamp out crimes as the Force had perfected strategies to ensure a safe and secure ground to guarantee a hitch – free March 28 and April 11, 2015 general elections.
