Igbo Women To Protest Naked Over Incessant Herders Killings

(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – Women in South East Nigeria, under the platform of Ndinne Igbo, meaning, (mother’s in Igbo land) have decried incessant attacks and killings by suspected killer herdsmen, in South – East geo political zone, saying they have concluded plans to stage a protest naked across the region to express their displeasure over the development
The Women Socio cultural body in a statement lamented the continued waste of lives of Igbo indigenes by killer in parts of South East Nigeria.
They condemned in strong term the recent attacks in Enugu and Ebonyi States by the dreaded herders, who sent several innocent people to their early grave.
Our Correspondent, reports that the group noted many Igbo children have become terrible victims of the nefarious herdsmen attacks, calling for stronger and more proactive measures by the government and security operatives
It hinted that the group has concluded arrangement to march round Igbo land naked to protest the killings of their children and husbands by the suspected herdsmen, as well as alleged raping of women.
The body in the statement signed by its President, Mrs. Beatrice Chukwubuike, equally called on the state and federal government’s particularly South East Governors to rise up and take urgent measures on the matter before it degenerates into anarchy.
Recalled that Ebonyi and Enugu states were recently attacked by suspected herders who also murdered several people .
