I Have No Hands In Abia Crisis – AGF Malami
Featured, Latest Headlines, News Monday, July 4th, 2016ABUJA, NIGERIA (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – The Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice Abubakar Malami has denied having hands in the raging constitutional crisis rocking Abia State.
Malami promised that the crises would soon be resolved by the law court.
He therefore urged all parties involved to wait for the outcome of the court ruling.
Abia State has been in the news since last week Thursday when INEC issued Governor Okozie Ikpeazu’s rival, Mr. Uche Ogah Certificate of Return in line with Monday, June 20, 2016 Federal High Court, sitting in Abuja ruling.
Justice Okon Abang admitted that Gov Ikpeazu presented fabricated information to INEC to contest his party-PDP primary in December 2014.
He therefore held that his (Ikpeazu) certificate of return be immediately withdrawn while the same be issued to Ogah and sworn-in as the Governor.
Governor Ikpeazu faulted INEC’s action as he claimed he had filed both notice of appeal against the court ruling as well as stay of execution of the High court judgment.
The hearing on the motion for stay of execution is billed for Monday, July 4, 2016.
