Horror! Truck Crushes 2 To Death, Injures 9 In Ogun

It was a sad day at the Ota tollgate, Ogun State, Nigeria when a tipper crushed two people to death and injured nine others.

The tipper was said to have run into traders selling their wares by road side at the tollgate. The incident occurred on Thursday around 11 am. The truck was said to have experienced brake failure.

The truck, whith the registration number JJJ551 XB rammed into the traders as the driver lost control as a result of the brake failure.

An eye witness stated that the truck was coming from the Lagos axis towards the tollgate when the fatal accident occurred, saying that the driver could not control the tipper due to the brake failure and rammed into the traders.

The driver of the truck was said to have escaped as soon as the accident occur to avoid being killed by irate mob.

Policemen, officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC among others were at the scene to render help to the victims as those injured were rushed to th hospital.

The FRSC unit Commander, Ogun State, Mr. Sunday Omafu, confirmed that two people had died during the incident, adding that, “these two people have been identified by their people and taken to the Ifo General Hospital, while the rest who are in critical condition have been taken to the Sango General Hospital for treatment.”
