Hoodlums Set Ablaze Monarch’s Palace In Imo
Featured, Latest Headlines, News Across Nigeria, News From The State Friday, October 1st, 2021(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – Fear has gripped residents of Obor Autonomous Community in Orlu Council Area of Imo state, following razing down the palace of the Traditional ruler of the locality, Eze Obi Ralph Ekezie, hoodlums.
African Examiner reports that the ugly development has thrown the natives into panic, which incident happened on Thursday night.
Aside the Monarch’s property which was damaged, two other buildings around within the community were also touched.
A Source from the area told newsmen that, the inferno was later put out by combined efforts of good-spirited individuals in the community.
Reacting to the attack, the Traditional ruler, who confirmed the incident, blamed those he described as enemies of progress in the community for being responsible for the barbaric act.
The Monarch, said the level of damage can’t be ascertained at the moment, saying he would quantify it when he gets home by weekend..
The State police public Relations officer PPRO, Michael Abattam, when contacted said the command was yet to receive any information regarding the incident.
