Heads To Roll In PDP Over Jonathan’s Defeat
Exclusive Reports, Featured, Latest Headlines, News, Nigeria 2015 Election Sunday, April 19th, 2015Ayodele Afolabi, Abuja – The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP is to be overhauled following President Goodluck Jonathan’s defeat as well as the party’s failure at the just concluded elections, African Examiner has learnt.
According to sources within the party, the results of the elections have been analysed by a group that has the backing of President Goodluck Jonathan.
“It was discovered that the party failed substantially due to lack of transparent primaries supervised by the PDP National Working Committee, NWC.
The group has recommended that the current NWC members including the National Chairman, Alhaji Adamu Muazu should be booted out if PDP hopes to reposition for future polls.
“The crop of leaders running the affairs of the party believes in highest bidder instead of thinking of sustaining the winning streak of the party.
The group, which has since turned in its findings, was of the opinion that the Governors also share in the blame in the imposition saga.
The source further hinted that, the party would be reaching out to its founding fathers such as former Vice President Alex Ekweme, Atiku Abubakar to be parts of the party’s revival.
Our source disclosed that barring any change of plan, a meeting of the National Working Committee of PDP is in the offing where far-reaching decisions will be taken and that the meeting has been fixed for a time before May 29 handover’s date.
