Gunmen Kill PDP Chieftain In Plateau, Inflict Injuries On Daughter
Featured, Latest Headlines, News From The State Thursday, February 19th, 2015Agabus Pwanagba, Jos – The Plateau State Police Command has confirmed the killing of the Deputy Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) of Sop Ward, Mr. Solomon Mwadvyang in Riyom Local Government Area, of the State.
The gunmen also inflicted injuries on the deceased daughter, Emmanuela.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Abuh Emmanuel, said the PDP Chieftain was killed, adding “I’m yet to be furnished with the details of the incident”.
AFRICAN EXAMINER ONLINE gathered that the sad incident occurred at about 10pm on Tuesday at his resident, in Sop village of Riyom LGA.
An eyewitness told our correspondent that the assailants stormed the residence of the deceased and held the family hostage for about 2 hours, demanding the where about of their father.
It was learnt that their father who was still away from meeting was shot on arrival at about 10pm when he returned home.
It was also gathered that the daughter, Emmanuela sustained gunshot wounds and is currently receiving medical attention at the Vom Christian Hospital.
Reacting to the incident, Majority Leader and Member representing Riyom constituency in the Plateau State House of Assembly, Hon. Daniel Dem condemned the act and called on security agencies to fish out the perpetrators.
