Gunmen Kidnap NAN Correspondent In Imo, Demand N5m Ransom
Latest Headlines, News Thursday, June 4th, 2015From Ignatius Okpara, Owerri – Heavily armed men have kidnapped the Imo state Correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN Miss Chidi Opara, in Owerri.
The female journalist was abducted on Wednesday at her MCC Road residence, Urata in Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo State.
Sources said she was whisked away by her abductors at about 8pm as she was about entering the gate to her residence by two armed men.
However, family sources hinted that her abductors have demanded N5m ransom to set her free.
As at the time of filling this report, the police in the state said they were yet to establish her whereabouts.
