Gunmen Invade Jonathan’s LGA; Kidnap Council Boss
Featured, Latest Headlines, News Thursday, April 23rd, 2015FROM IGNATIUS OKPARA, Yenagoa – Heavily armed men Wednesday invaded Ogbia Local government Area home of the outgoing President Goodluck Jonathan in Balyesa state and abducted the Council’s Chairman, Mr. Enaye Sasime Abah.
A source indicated that the gunmen who stormed the area with sophisticated weapons, waylaid the Council’s boss along Otuasega/Okarki road after opening fire on his official Prado Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV).
AFRICAN EXAMINER gathered that Abah, was on his way to a political stakeholders’ meeting in the council when he ran into the hoodlums.
The Source revealed on sighting the Council’s boss official vehicle, the attackers used a Mazda 325 to block the road.
It was gathered that the hoodlums opened fire on the police orderlyof the council chairman who came out of the car to find out why the car was stationed on the road.
The policeman according to the source, had to run into the bush, for safety leaving his principal to his fate.
Immediately the Chairman’s security ran for cover, the gunmen reportedly dragged Abah from his vehicle into the waiting Mazda and moved towards the waterside before escaping with a speedboat.
The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Ansim Butwats, who confirmed the ugly incident, said preliminary investigations showed that the gunmen took Abah to the Abua waterways in the neighbouring Rivers State.
