(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – Gunmen on Sunday attacked another police station in Anambra State
Efforts by the gunmen to burn down the police station located at Mgbakwu in Awka North local Government were met with stiff resistance from the policemen on duty. It gathered that the gunmen shot sporadically into the air to scare people away to give them the opportunity to set it ablaze
They ran away when they faced superior gun power from the police.
One of the policemen was injured by the hoodlums,
A source said the injured policeman had been taken to hospital.
Confirming the incident, spokesman Ikenga Tochukwu said the efforts of their men prevented the hoodlums from setting ablaze the police station.
He, however, he did not say whether any policeman was injured or killed.
