Guber Poll: Accreditation Of Voters Begin In Bayelsa

Accreditation of voters for today’s (Saturday) Governorship election in Bayelsa state is presently in Progress without hitches in parts of the state.
Our Correspondent IGNATIUS OKPARA, covering the poll reports that the exercise which is taking place in parts of the areas monitored so far, has been peaceful.
The accreditation began at about few minutes past 8 O’clock in most of the units monitored
At IKatabiri ward 4 polling unit in Kolokuma Opokuma council area of the state, believe to be strong hold of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, voters were seen undergoing accreditation in a peaceful manner.
Speaking with AFRICAN EXAMINER,the presiding officer (PO) in charge of the unit, who gave his name as Goodnews Chineme, a National youth Service Corp NYSC member, said the exercise has been very peaceful and hitch free.
He said the Card Reader machine deployed to the unit have been functioning perfectly well.
According to him, apart from the issue of thump printing which some people are experiencing, the accreditation has been going on smoothly.”
Meanwhile, the exercise is expected to end by 1 pm today, and election begins immediately after the last person on the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC voters register list is accredited.
