Groups To Storm World Bank/IMF Spring Meeting In US To Nail Sanusi

Some Civil Society groups are already on their way to Washington DC, US, to attend the scheduled World Bank/IMF meeting where they will distribute a well packaged damning Report on activities of the former CBN governor to the officials.

The spring meeting of the World Bank/IMF is scheduled to kick off in April 7 and would end on April 13, according to programme.

A “Returnee of the World Bank/IMF”, who had been formally invited to the spring meeting, Mr Olufemi Aduwo disclosed this to Newspot Nigeria.

The National Coordinator Right Monitoring Group who is on his way to Washington said he and representatives of three other groups had in their possession 1000 copies of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria for distribution to the officials of the World Bank/IMF during the meeting.

He said the motive of their action was to enable the officials of international financial institutions have a clearer insight on the happenings back in Nigeria most especially on the systemic abuse of the apex bank in the country by top officials.

He said his team would seize the opportunity to hold talks with relevant officials of the financial institutions on how to assist Nigeria to institute fool-proof measures for safeguarding the banking system in Nigeria and the necessity to prevent the apex bank from further abuse.

The Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria in its report focused on alleged nonchalance, fraudulent activities, wastefulness, abuse of due process and deliberate efforts to misrepresent facts on the state of finance in the CBN under the leadership of Sanusi Lamido Sanusi.
