Group Says Confab Will Eliminate Ethnic Discrimination and Promote Unity

Nigerian Young Professionals’ Forum has expressed optimism that the ongoing National Conference in Abuja will eliminate ethnic discrimination, promote justice and unity of Nigeria.
Chairman, Nigerian Young Professionals Forum (NYPF), Mr. Moses Siasia made this known during a media chat in Lagos.
He said that National Conference is the surest way to hear grievances of different groups and sections of the society, adding that it is also timely and will be very useful to solve Nigeria problems.
“The process that brought about the conference has never happen in the history of this country. Okuronmu’s Committee did a wonderful job by coming up with the conference composition. The conference is all inclusive as the composition of conference covers all interest group.” Siasia said.
The NYPF Chairman said the national conference will bring needed growth, eliminate ethnic discrimination, promote justice and unity in Nigeria.
According to him, NYPF representatives at the conference are pushing for removal of age limit for people to contest for governor and president.
“Nigerian Young Professionals Forum has two representatives at the conference. We are pushing for removal age limit for somebody to contest for election. If 18years old can vote, the constitution should also allow them to be voted for, even to the presidency from age 18” He explained.
He warned that unemployment will jeopardize the unity of this country, if government and other stakeholders fail to take proactive step to solve the problem.
