Governor Ugwuanyi Decries Slow Pace Of Work At State Diagnostic Centre
Latest Headlines, News From The State Wednesday, July 29th, 2015By Ignatius Okpara, Enugu – Enugu state Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, on Wednesday expressed disappointment over the slow pace and shoddy work at the ongoing construction of late Dr. Sam Onwu Diagnostic Centre, Enugu.
The governor, who was conducted round the multi million naira complex project by the State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Patrick Ikpenwa, and the Commissioner for Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Rita Mba, during a visit to the facility, was equally not happy about shoddy job done in some parts of the project.
African Examiner reports that the project was started by the immediate past administration of ex-governor sullivan Chime, and has been going on at snail speed.
Ugwuanyi, was also unhappy that some stakeholders on the project were giving conflicting explanations on the questions he asked them.
He, therefore, admonished them to put their records straight, adding that they should expedite action on the project with a view to completing it.
The Governor, equally warned that all materials provided for the project should be made available without further delay.
He also directed appropriate authorities to investigate the encroachment on the government land at the centre and brief government accordingly without any delay.
The Governor who could not hide his anger before leaving the project site, noted that work so far done was not commensurate with funds expended on the project by the government, warning the contractor to make sure that the project is delivered on record time.
