Governor Orji Emerges New Chairman South East Governor’s Forum
Featured, Latest Headlines, News From The State Sunday, March 9th, 2014Governor Theodore Ahamefula Orji of Abia state has emerged chairman of South east governor,s forum.
Orji took over from outgoing Governor of Anambra state, Mr. Peter Obi who chaired the forum for over five years.
Governor Obi disclosed this to newsmen on Sunday shortly at the end of south east Governor’s forum/ stake holders meeting held at the government house Enugu.
African Examiner gathered that the Abia Governor, allegedly defeated Enugu state Governor, Sullivan Chime, and his Ebonyi counterpart, Martin Elechi, in an internal poll conducted during the meeting which lasted several hours.
Responding, Governor Orji, who expressed appreciation to his colleagues for the confidence reposed in him, promised to use his position to champion the course of the south east geo-political zone.
He said “I know the task is enormous, but with the cooperation of my colleagues and the media, I will succeed”
The new south east governor’s forum boss, also assured to make uplifiment of south east zone his watch word.
Apart from the south east governors, some political office holders from state and federal levels from the zone also attended the marathon meeting.
