Governor Dankwambo Pledges More Developments For Gombe If Re-elected
Latest Headlines, News, News From The State Monday, February 9th, 2015Traditional rulers in Gombe Central Senatorial District have pledged support for Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo’s bid for re-election, even as he assured of his determination to deliver more dividend of democracy to the people.
The three traditional rulers who endorsed Gov. Dankwambo include Emir of Gona, Alhaji Abdulsalam Abdulkadir, Emir of Akko, Alhaji Atiku Umar and Emir of Pindiga, Alhaji Sayoji Ahmed, where the Governor was at the weekend turbaned, Matawalle Pindiga.
Addressing royal fathers at the Emir’s palace in Pindiga, Governor Dankwambo who was on campaign tour of the towns and villages in Akko Local Government area of the state reminded the people of his various developmental strides, saying a lot more could be done to take the state to a greater height.
“You are witnesses to what we have done in education, health, agriculture, housing and road construction. We have made progress, building infrastructure across the states in these sectors,” he said.
Adding: “that progress is made in an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity,” urging them to vote for all the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the next elections.
The governor said the PDP has without doubt achieved a lot. He specifically urged for massive support for its senatorial candidate for Gombe Central, Hon. Usman Bello Kumo, whom he described as a worthy son of the town.
The Emir of Akko assured the governor of his people’s support, insisting that one good tenure deserves another.
“You have done very well, we can see your efforts in education in particular and it is only fair that you complete your tenure. We shall continue to support you,” he added.
In Gona, the governor promised to address the acute water problem in the area, saying plans are underway to ensure the provision of portable water to the community.
