Glo-CAF Awards: Iheanacho, Oshoala, Iwobi Get Nominations
Featured, Latest Headlines, Sports News Monday, December 12th, 2016BALTIMORE, MD (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – Super Eagles’ strikers Kelechi Iheanacho, Alex Iwobi and Super Falcons’ forward Asisat Oshoala have been nominated for the Glo-CAF Africa Player of the Year and Africa-based Player Awards.
There are seven nominations according to NAN in the 13 other categories released by the Confederation of African Football for the Glo-CAF African Football Awards 2016.
Oshoala was listed alongside South African Janine Van Wyk, Ghanaian Elizabeth Addo and Cameroonians Gabrielle Onguene and Raissa Tchuanyo for the Women’s Player of the Year award.
Other contenders with Oshoala are Nacer Sandjak of CAF Confederation Cup winners MO Bejaia and Pitso Mosimane of CAF Champions League winners Mamelodi Sundowns.
The epic award is scheduled for Thursday, January 5, 2017 in Abuja.
