France Pledges To Support Nigeria On War Against Terrorism

The French Government has promised to cooperate with her Nigerian counterpart, to further strengthen the bilateral discussions on security relations existing between the two countries.
French Director of Military Intelligence, Lieutenant General Christopher Gomart gave the assurance Thursday, when he paid courtesy visit to the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Gabriel Olonisakin at the Defence Headquarters (DHQ), Abuja.
Lt. Gen. Gomart explained that the visit would enable the two Nations share intelligence and knowledge about terrorists as well as reinforce the defence cooperation between the Intelligence Agencies of the duo.
The Defence Chief of Policy and Plans, Air Vice Marshal Anthony Omeiza who represented the CDS noted that the visit would not only cement the existing relationship between the two nations, but would as well encourage intelligence discussion and information sharing on ways to tackle security challenges.
He called for the French’s support on the Nigeria’s current fight against insurgency.
