Former CDS Badeh Expected At The EFCC Today
Featured, Latest Headlines, News Wednesday, February 3rd, 2016The immediate past Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Air Marshall Alex Badeh (rtd), is expected today at the premises of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over allegation of involving in arms purchase scandal while in office.
Badeh was still in service when the past administration of Goodluck Jonathan released the sum of $2.1 Billion for arms procurement to fight the Boko Haram insurgents in the North East.
The alleged scam, now referred to as #DasukiGate that rocked the arms procurement involved the former National Security Adviser (NSA) Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd) and some politicians, including former Governors and political party Chieftains.
The retired army Chief is to appear at the EFCC base on the body’s invitation to him, to clarify allegations against him in the scandal.
It would be recalled former Airforce Chief, Air Vice Marshall Adesola Amosu has also been invited and currently being questioned over his alleged role in arms scam. Similarly, President Muhammadu Buhari in January has approved investigation of the retired security chiefs.
