Foremost Industrialist, Bayo Kuku Dies

Chief Kuku according to a family source, died Thursday, and was buried late in the morning Friday (today) at his country home (White House), on Bayo Kuku Drive, Obalende, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, South Western Nigeria.
The Ogbeni Oja of Ijebu land was once President of the Nigeria Stock Exchange (NSE) and was considered as one of the richest and most influential Ijebu indigenes.
The late famous philanthropist who was ranked among the top Nigerian billionaires, held tenaciously to philosophy of humble lifestyle, hence his worldview slogan – “living a life of moderation”.
Until his transition, Chief Kuku a lawyer by profession was the Bobajiro of Ijebuland as well as Chairman, Council of Chiefs of Ijebu
Meanwhile, President Goodluck Jonathan has extended heartfelt commiserations to the Awujale of Ijebu-Ode, Oba Sikiru Adetona and his people on the death of one of the town’s most illustrious sons, Chief Bayo Kuku.
President Jonathan similarly condoled members of the Kuku family as well as the Government and people of Ogun State on the passage of the renowned Ogbeni-Oja of Ijebu-Ode.
He believed that Chief Kuku would be long remembered and honoured across the country and beyond as a trail-blazing entrepreneur and administrator whose career highlights included his exemplary leadership role as President of the Nigerian Stock Exchange.
