Five Policemen Killed By Gunmen In Rivers

PORT HARCOURT, NIGERIA (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – Rivers State Police Command has confirmed killing of five of its men by some unknown gunmen early Monday morning.
The State’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Ahmad Muhammad who made the confirmation, explained that the late Policemen were ambushed around 3.00am, along the popular East-West road, by hoodlums in Okobe, in Ahoda West Local Council area of the South South State.
Mr. Muhammad also indicated that the victims, whose names were not disclosed, were returning from Yobe State, where they had traveled for a special assignment and on their way to Yenagoa, the capital of the neighbouring Bayelsa State.
