The first Executive Governor of Plateau State and first National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Solomon Daushep Lar is dead
Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau State confirmed the incident after he received the new Speaker of the State House of Assembly, RT. Hon. Titus Alams, who paid him a courtesy call in his office in Jos.
According to him, “We have just received a sad news that our father and leader Chief Solomon Lar, has passed away in an American hospital in the United States of America, at about 3.30am American time.
Meanwhile, Capt . idris Wada, governor of Kogi state has reacted to news of the death of Chief Solomon Lar saying his contribtions will be missed
Wada in a statement signed by his Special Adviser, Media and strategy Jacob Edi described the pioneer chairman of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party as loss to the entire nation.
“Our heart here in kogi state goes to the immediate family of late Chief Lar, the good people of Plateau State and the country in general,” Wada noted in the statement.
The Kogi governor who described Chief Lar as a leader, a nationalist and a great mobilizer of people prayed God to grant him eternal rest.
On his own part, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Tony Anenih described the death of former National Chairman and former Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the party, Chief Solomon Daushep Lar, as a great loss to both the party and the nation.
