Fire Touches Mortgage Bank In Kontagora Building, Lagos

By Ayo Balogun – Lagos – The Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN), located inside the Maman Kontagora building, Lagos Island, was touched Wednesday, by an early morning fire outbreak.

The inferno which eye witness revealed to ARICAN EXAMINER started in the third floor via power generator, went wild and extended to the fifth floor FMBN of the over ten years old edifice.

Workers in the building located on Broad street, related that the fire began around 9.00 am.

Meanwhile, men of the State Fire Services and Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) had put out the fire and are presently conducting search to the level of damages in the structure. The staffers of the agencies however confirmed that no human casualty was recorded from their findings so far.
