Fire Disaster: No Cause For Alarm -CBN

Following the Tuesday’s strange fire that gutted the Lagos office of the Central Bank of Nigeria, the apex bank has assured its stakeholders and the general public that its records are intact.
The fire incident, which started at about 5:10pm with thick smoke emanating from the first floor of the building after the close of work, took the timely intervention of the Federal, State and private fire services to save the old headquarters of the apex bank at Tinubu Square in central Lagos from being razed down.
The fire services from the Federal, State, UBA, Union Bank were said to have collaborated to put out the inferno.
Meanwhile a a statement from the Apex bank says, “the fire incident that occurred at its Lagos branch will not affect its documents,” adding that “the records of the bank are intact, as the bank has an effective backup of all its records, as part of our disaster recovery infrastructure.”
