Finitiri Campaign Receives Support As APC Approves Seven Aspirants For Primary

Ahead of Saturday, September 6, Adamawa governorship primary, the state Acting Governor, Ahmadu Finitiri’s hope of clinching the ruling People Democratic Party (PDP) ticket, Tuesday became brighter as one of the party’s prominent aspirants and former Nigeria Ambassador to Tunisia, James Barka stepped down for him.
Similarly, African Examiner Correspondent reported that more aspirants are likely to toe Barka’s line, as serious negotiations are still ongoing.
Barka, who is a former Speaker of the State’s House of Assembly hinged his decision to good performance recorded by Finitiri in his last 30 days in office.
He urged other aspirants to step down and give their support to the Acting Governor, who he described as the missing Messiah of the state.
In the meantime, the Finitiri’s Campaign organization has declared despite the temporary setback in his camp owing to disqualification by the Former Senator Ibrahim Mantu – led Screening committee, has overlooked the development and has nothing against anybody.
In a related development, the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) screening committee has endorsed all its seven aspirants to contest in the state’s governorship primary.
The committee which is headed by Mr.Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN) concluded its assignment late Monday and announced the result in Yola, the state capital Tuesday.
According to Akeredolu, all the the seven aspirants including Alhaji Dahiru Bobo and Emmanuel Bello met the requirements, therefore have been endorsed by his committee.
