The President of Woman Arise for Change Initiative (WACI), Dr. Joe Okei-Odumakin, has said until federal government expose sponsors of Boko Haram sects, there is no way it can achieve permanent solution in the fight against the terrorist group.
Okei-Odumakin disclosed this while leading some women in the “bring back our girl” protest in Lokoja. The human right activist told reporters that the need to over haul the security system had become imperative due to the weakness of the security personnel in tackling the sects.
She said the incessant increase of insecurity in Nigeria has shown that the security system has failed and needs to be over-hauled.
Okei-Odumakin warned the Federal Government against exchanging the girls abducted from their dormitory in Government Girls Secondary School in Chibok, borno State, with detained members of the terrorist group.
The human right activist however demanded that the government should compensate the girls and their families and find means for them to conclude the WASSCE examination they were writing before their abduction.
At the end of the protest the president of the group advised the military forces to remain focused, not be intimated and ensure they go to every “nook and cranny” to rescue the girls.
