FIFA Presidency: Ohaneze Youths Deny Endorsing Orji Kalu

BY IGNATIUS OKPARA, Umuahia – The Abia state chapter of the Youth Wing of Ohaneze Ndigbo, the apex Igbo Socio cultural body, has distanced itself from media reports that it has endorsed the FIFA presidential aspiration of ex- governor of the state, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu.

The group in a statement made available to AFRICAN EXAMINER over the weekend in Enugu said, “it is with rude shock that Ohanaeze Ndigbo youth Wing, read in a newspaper over the purported endorsement of Orji Uzor kalu as the next FIFA President”

It said “The recent purported endorsement of Orji Uzor Kalu, by Ohanaeze Youths is not true. The apex Igbo youths want Orji kalu in Prisons, and we declare him non persona grata in Igbo land for using our name fictitiously which automatically disqualified him to contest for FIFA President”

The statement signed by its Deputy Chairman, Chetachi ikpe, noted that “We are aware that FIFA, as the World football governing body deals only with Men of Proven integrity that can manage its affairs sincerely, and not people like Orji Uzor kalu”

According to the body, “Orji Uzor Kalu topped the list of Corrupt politicians that Ohanaeze Youths sent to President Buhari for Speedy Prosecution over the embezzlement of Resources of Abia state between 1999-2007,and should be in Prison not in FIFA.”
