FG To Commence Rail Operations In Portharcourt, Makurdi, Jos, Others Soon

President Goodluck Jonathan has assured Nigerians that the rail lines linking Portharcourt, Makurdi, Lafia, Jos and Maiduguri will soon commence operation.
He stated this on Saturday in Jos at a thanksgiving service marking the 70th birthday of Governor Jonah Jang.
He said: “Rehabilitation of the Portharcourt, Makurdi, Lafia, Kuru and Maiduguri narrow gate railway line will very soon start running
“The rehabilitation of Langtang, Lalin, Tunkus-Shendam roads, reinstatement of the bridge linking Shendam-Yelwa and the Completion of the Mangu water supply scheme which provides about 10 million litres per-day and serve Gindiri-Mangu township will soon be completed.
Vice President Namadi Sambo represented the president who commended Governor Jonah Jang for his developmental strides in Plateau state.
In his goodwill message, the Archbishop of Jos and Chairman of Bishop Conference of Nigeria, Most Reverend Ignatius Kaigama, advised the person that will take over from Jang to focus on dialogue, reconciliation and peace.
