FG Says Enugu Will Receive Large Share Of Micro And Medium Enterprises Fund

The Enugu state, South Eastern Nigeria has been assured of benefiting more from the recently launched Federal government Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Funds.
Vice President Namadi Sambo gave the assurance Thursday while addressing audience at the support rally for President Goodluck Jonathan, in Enugu the state capital.
At the solidarity rally organized by the Enugu State Movement for the Re-election of President Jonathan group, Sambo stated the reason for giving priority to Enugu, bothered on its historic industrial and entrepreneurship position in the South Eastern zone as well as to serve as complimentary measure to many transformation programmes of the state Governor, Sulivan Chime.
The Federal government has announced the release of N200 billion to prosecute the MSME scheme across the country.
The Vice President who revealed that the Federal government was collaborating with the State Government to improve on its power generation and transmission, reaffirmed that Chime and Enugu needed Federal support as the Governor just bought a new helicopter for the State Police Command to boost its activities.
He commended the gesture which he stated was the first in the country.
Governor Chime in his address at the rally guaranteed President Jonathan of 100 per cent support from the state as well as of the vote, emphasizing that any vote for any opposition party or any other candidate except the PDP and Jonathan in the state would be a vote from the “hell”.
He said the President deserved such overwhelming support from Enugu as his administration has done very well to improve the socio – economic sectors of the state.
Governor Chime narrated example of Minister of state for Foreign Affairs who he told the rally called and informed him Wednesday night that the Federal Government has just signed a bilateral agreement between it and Turkish Airline to fly daily, Turkey and Enugu.
He maintained President Jonathan has created enabling environment for industrial development and entrepreneurship growth in Enugu state.
The Chairman of the Enugu Jonathan support rally group, Barrister C. Ekukwe in his remarks highlighted that the theme of the body’s rally was “2015 Election: No Vacancy; No Controversy, reiterated that the group would rally Enugu people to support Jonathan second term ambition as well as vote him in the next year general elections. He promised the group would tour the nooks and crannieis of the state to achieve its set goals.
He praised the state Governor, saying he had led his people very well, therefore, deserved support of the citizens.
The rally was graciously attended by the PDP top officials and government functionaries, including the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, Minister of Police Affairs, Jelili Adesiyan, Political Adviser to Jonathan, Professor Rufai Al-kali, Anambra state Governor, Willie Obiano, Speaker of the State House Of Assembly, former Senate President, Ken Nnamani, all the state Council Chairmen among many other guests.
