The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Olugbenga Ashiru
says the Federal Government is yet to receive the controversial
£3,000 cash bond for first-time visa applicants from Nigeria and 5
other Commonwealth countries.

The other 5 countries are Kenya, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and
Pakistan.

The ministry of foreign affairs in a statement signed by Ogbole Ode
said that Nigeria government has already rejected the
discriminatory policy.

His words: “The Federal Government has already conveyed its
objection to the bond payment to the UK government, when the
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Olugbenga Ashiru,
summoned the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr. Andrew
Pocock, to Tafawa Balewa House on June 25.”

Reports say that UK will begin implementation of the policy in
November.
