FG Housing Scheme For Commissioning Monday

ABUJA, NIGERIA (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – The National Housing scheme of the present is administration is to be unveiled next week Monday, official of the Ministry has confirmed.
The commissioning is to take place at the Affordable Housing Summit 2016 being organized by the Ministry of Housing in partnership with a German Development Cooperation.
The event is expected to be led by Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola. A member of the Summit’s Technical Working Group, Mrs. Eucharia Alozie, confirmed this while addressing journalists in Abuja.
She indicated that Mr. Fashola would unveil the Federal Government (FG) Housing plan to the public during the summit, adding that the event would in addition produce blueprint to be implemented very soon.
Mrs Aloxie who was joined with the Leader of Value Chain Unit of GIZ, Mr. Christoph Pannhausen, at the briefing reiterated that the Summit would serve as a platform where the public and private sectors would share ideas and proffer sustainable strategic framework for housing delivery in Nigeria.
She added that the Ministry would use the opportunity of the Summit to identify the challenges facing the Nigerian Housing sector as well as proffer solutions. The Summit, she promised would address the five pillars on which affordable Housing is rested.
Alozie who is the Ministry’s Head of Head of Public Private Partnership Unit cautioned that, the Summit was different from the previous, where a housing roadmap was launched. She assured Nigerians that the event would not be a talk shop but action-oriented.
The partner’s representative, in his address promised that the Summit would come up with a blueprint that would be implemented in the subsequent months and years, while the incoming Housing model would be affordable.
