FG Flags off Solar Powered Rural Electrification

The Nigerian government has flagged off solar powered project tagged “Operation Light-Up Nigeria”, in Durumi, a community in the nation’s capital Abuja.
The Minister of Power, Chinedu Nebo, said that Operation Light Up Rural communities in Nigeria, is an initiative of President Goodluck Jonathan, to make sure every rural communities are electrified.
Nebo explained that the Durunmi project is just the first of many more across the length and breadth of country.
The 3 kilowat capacity solar powered electricity project would provide electricity to the already enumerated 1005 households in Durunmi suburb, in addition to some ancillary outlets.
