FG Declares Friday, Monday Public Holidays To End Ramadan Fasting
Latest Headlines, National News, News Tuesday, July 14th, 2015By ayo balogun – Following the ongoing fasting by the Muslims expected to end this weekend, the Federal government has declared Friday, July 17 as well as Monday, 20, 2015 as public holidays to mark the end of the annual rite.
The declaration is contained in a statement issued Tuesday, by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Mr. Abubakar Magaji.
The statement urged Muslims and Nigerians to extend the spiritual benefits inherent in the month of Ramadan, including love, peace and sacrifice for development of the country. In the same vein, Magaji tasked Nigerians to support President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration in its determination and sustained efforts towards building a peaceful, united and strong country.
While wishing the Muslim faithful a happy celebration, Magaji further advised Nigerians, home and in the Diaspora, to use the Salaah period to pray for peace and unity in Nigeria.
