Senator Bala Mohammed, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory has been accused of siphoning several millions of money from government coffers to pursue his governorship ambition.
Bala Mohammed’s political ambition is to become Bauchi state governor in 2015, an ambition many believe may hit the rock following the minister’s many misappropriations.
On the controversial N143 million scam, the FCT council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) has strong words for the minister.
The chairman of the council, Chuks Ehirim said NUJ “is indeed worried with the donation of 22, 18-seater buses by the FCT Minister, Senator Bala Mohammed, to the Bauchi state Chapter PDP.”
Each of the bus is estimated to cost N6.5million each.
Ehirim stressed that “It will interest us to know where the minister got N143m for the buses.”
Senator Bala Mohammed has also been accused of constructing a N300 million Mosque in his state to placate Bauchi’s people in order to achieve his 2015 governorship ambition.
