The Ayo Fayose Campaign Organisation (AFCO) has advised former Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Segun Oni to go to All Progressives Congress with his directionless followers, adding that PDP will not miss him.
The Director General of AFCO, Mr. Owoseni Ajayi stated this in a statement made available to Journalists on Tuesday in Ado-Ekiti.
Ajayi added Segun Oni was forced to join the All Progressives Congress (APC) because of the intimidating profile of the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party.
Fayose had abandoned Oni in 2009 rerun supplementary election to work with Fayemi who eventually won.
According to the statement, “Ekiti State Peoples Democratic Party will not miss Mr. Segun Oni. He is free to take along with him other directionless followers with him to the APC.
“We have no regret over Oni’s departure. He is of the ACN, just returning to where he was before he was imposed as the PDP candidate in 2007.
“If Oni is spiritual enough, he would know that it is the table that is turning back to its original take-off point of 2006. We wish to remind him that the likes of Dayo Adeyeye, Bisi Kolawole, Dipo Anisulowo, Ojuawo, Aborisade, Tunde Adeniran, Biodun Olujimi and Ayo Arise, who he can call his foot soldiers, are with us in Ekiti PDP.”
Ekiti state governorship election is slated for June 21, 2014.
Incumbent governor Kayode Fayemi of APC, Peter Fayose, governorship candidate of PDP and Labour party candidate, Opeyemi Bamidele are the major contenders in the forthcoming election in the state.
