Fawehinmi Legacy Lives On-Joe Odumakin

Human Rights activist and founder, Women Arise, Joe Odunmakin on Wednesday said the legacy of late legal luminary and human rights activist, Gani Fawehinmi would not be forgotten in Nigerian history.
Joe Odumakin stated this while addressing human activists, celebrities and Nigerians at Gani Fawehinmi park,Ojota, Lagos to mark five years remembrance of the late lawyer.
She described Fawehinmi as a dogged fighter who never compromise his stand by fighting for the poor masses, even during dark days of military rule.
“Chief Gani Fawehinmi was a dogged fighter and senior advocate of the masses. He was always on the side the masses. He fought military dictators and work with other activists to ensure the country return to democratic rule.
“We all gathered here to remember Fawehinmi five years after his death. He will never be forgotten in Nigerian history. ”
Late Gani Fawehinmi died in 2009 of lung cancer. He was arrested several times during military era in Nigeria.
