Fashola Mourns Plane Crash Victims

Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State, Nigeria has mourned victims of the Associated Airline Plane crash in Lagos this morning.
The Associated Airline, with the Reg. No SCD 361 crashed shortly after take-off at about 9.30 am local time. The plane had 15 passengers and seven crewmembers on board.
The ill-fated plane carrying the remains of the late former governor of Ondo State, Dr Olusegun Agagu was heading to Akure where well-wishers are waiting to receive the body of the late politician. Late Agagu is due for burial this weekend in his hometown, Iju-Odo in Ondo State, South-West, Nigeria.
Fifteen people have been confirmed dead in the crash while five others survived.
Reacting to the crash, Fashola described it as monumental and unfortunate disaster, which led to the loss of lives and properties.
Speaking through the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Aderemi Ibirogba, the governor said the news of the crash was received with shock and dismay by the state government.
“The state government thereby commiserates with the families and friends of the deceased, including the Ondo State Government in particular and in deed, the whole country over this irreparable loss,” he said.
The governor prayed that the Almighty God would grant the families and the nation the fortitude to bear the loss.
