Falana Decries Hike In APC Presidential Nomination Forms Price

Nigerian prominent legal Practitioner and human right activist, Mr. Femi Falana (SAN) has condemned the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC), Presidential hopeful and former Head of State, Gen Muhammadu Buhari, for going on loan to obtain his party’s expression and nomination forms.
Gen Buhari had after declaration of his ambition last week visited his party secretariat in FCT, Abuja to purchase the form which is sold for N27. 5 million. Former Vice President and another Presidential aspirant, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has ealier purchased his, at the similar amount.
Mr. Falana made the condemnation Thursday, in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital at an occasion marking the Paramount FM NUJ’s chapel press week.
The Lawyer opined that Gen Buhari’s loan taking was unexpected and not defendable. He observed it was similar to commercialization of politics as the huge sum was affordable .
Mr. Falana who deliver paper titled: ‘Current Security Challenges: Implication for 2015 Elections’. wondered if by now the retired General begins to borrow money to purchase only nomination forms, asked, how would he and who would bankroll his electioneering campaign, for the party’s Presidential primary and general election.
