FAAC: Gov. Ahmed Expresses Confidence on FG
Uncategorized Thursday, October 3rd, 2013The governor of Kwara State, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has expressed confidence in the ability of Federal Government to tackle the impasse in the federal accounts allocation committee in the last four months.
Speaking with newsmen in Ilorin, Ahmed said the President Goodluck Jonathan is mindful of the impact of the deadlock on all tiers of government and will ensure an early resolution.
‘We have been made to understand that FAAC would not be able to meet up with its argumentation of the federal allocated funds to all tiers of government. Augmentation is designed to be part of the budget and the situation means that there would be shortfalls in allocations to states, he said.
While noting that the impact of the shortfall is already being felt, the governor called for early resolution in the interest of good governance.
“We can manage our expectations, we can build plans on amount accruable to the state to articulate and execute budget to the letter but the lack of control on the in-flows naturally denies you the opportunity of saying in clear terms that full implementation of the budget would be recorded”, Alhaji Ahmed stated.
The governor who lauded the early release of information about the challenges of FAAC also assured the people of the state of the government commitment to ensure all on-going projects would be completed as scheduled.
