Chief Ihedioha said: ”We will no longer fold our arms and pretend as if all have been well in our state while all the 27 LGAs have been under lock since the inception of Governor Rochas – APC Okorocha led administration in June, 2011. The level of decay is very alarming such that one man and his family have continued to loot the treasury without any atom of remorse or compassion for the owners of the money who have been groaning in abject poverty.
”I challenge Governor Okorocha to without further delay; explain to the people of Imo State, particularly to the people of Ngor Okpala how he applied over N6.6billion that accrued to it from the Federal Account Allocation since June 2011 till December 2014. Our money must be used to better the lives of Imo people. He should publish what he used the monies for. It is time for stock taking and there will never be a hiding place for him as the day of reckoning has come.”
The Deputy Speaker, who was in the palace of the traditional ruler in company of all the leaders including Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, Chief Achike Udenwa, Chief Onyenso Nwachkwu bemoaned a situation where the statutory provision of 5percent of monthly allocations to the Council Areas for the traditional rulers has seized to be implemented under Okorocha and wondered where the funds have been kept.
Also speaking, the former Governor of Imo State, Chief Achike Udenwa stressed that during his administration, the LGAs worked very well and the 5 percent statutory funds for the traditional rulers were given to them. While reiterating the need to vote President Goodluck Jonathan as the only alternative and Chief Emeka Ihedioha as according to him, he has prepared himself for the onerous task of governing Imo State and urged the traditional rulers to be bold enough to ask the governor questions on issues of governance.
