There are strong indications that Governor Lawrence Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, of Enugu state, may have concluded plan to announce his first cabinet reshuffle since assumption of office a year ago.
AFRICAN EXAMINER reliably gathered that the proposed shake- up targeted at some non performing Commissioners, Special Advisers, (SPAs), may also affect Secretary to the state government (SSG), Mr. Gabriel Aja.
Aside the Commissioners and (SPAs), it was equally learnt that the Governor, has also resolved to show some of the Executive Assistants he engaged in parts of the local government areas in 2015, the exit door, due to the present economic misfortune in the country.
Our Correspondent gathered that Ugwuanyi, has not been impressed with the performance of the SSG and some of his aides, since they assumed office.
A source who craved anonymity revealed that the Governor has been shopping for a seasoned technocrat that may likely take over from the incumbent SSG.
According to the source, the proposed cabinet reshuffle would afford the Governor the opportunity of injecting new blood into the system, as well as engage some of his die- hard supporters who worked tirelessly for him during his electioneering campaign, but are yet to be compensated.
It is however, alleged that a good number of the serving Commissioners in the State were nominated by the immediate past Governor, Barrister Sullivan Chime, and the Deputy Senate President, Chief Ike Ekweremadu.
