Guber Polls: Ex-Ondo State Attorney General Emerges PDP Governorship Candidate
Featured, Latest Headlines, News Monday, August 22nd, 2016AKURE, NIGERIA, (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – Former State’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Mr. Eyitayo Jegede (SAN) has been elected the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship candidate in the forthcoming poll.
Mr. Jegede, at the end of the party’s primary polled a total of 760 votes as against the first runner’s up Mr. Saka Lawal who scored 22 votes.
He is to contest with his main rival – the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and other opposition flagbearer in the South West State.
The Gubernatorial election is to hold in November this year – about two months after Edo’s which holds in September.
