Teenager Ese Oruru and her alleged abductor, Yinusa (Yellow), have arrived the Police Headquarters, in FCT Abuja.
On Monday, the Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi Lamido II distanced himself and the Kano Emirate Council Kano from the worrisome incident, hence ordered the State’s Sharia Commission to liaise with office of the Assistant Inspector General of Police, zone 1 to commence process of returning young Oruru back to her native land – Opolo, Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.
Controversies have surrounded the absence of the 14 year-old girl, since August 15, 2015, as it was argued she was abducted by the suspect (her alleged lover) – Yinusa from her mother’s shop, while it is also alleged she eloped with Yellow, who previously used to fetch water for her mother, but later turned tricycle operator to Kano.
On arrival at Police Headquarters, the Assistant Police Commissioner in charge of Zone 1 Police Headquarters, Kano, Shuaibu Gambo, hinted that Yinusa would be prosecuted and face criminal charges.
He also informed that the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Solomon Arase would address the journalists on the saga, after which Bayelsa CP would reunite her with her family.
In the meantime, Ese’s mother is currently on her way to Abuja from Yenagoa. She was initially billed to travel by air, but the plan was shelved at the last minutes.
