Enyimba Win Nigerian League Title For Record 7th Time

Peoples Elephant, Enyimba Football Club of Aba, Abia state have won the Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL title, for record 7th times.

The team, playing at their backyard on sunday, held their close rival Warri Wolves, to a goalless draw.

AFRICAN EXAMINER Sports reports that no fewer than 40,000 fans watched that match played at the Enyimba International Stadium in the commercial city of Aba.

With the draw, the team now have 69 points, ahead of Wolves with 60, that may likely finish in second place and qualify for next year’s CAF Champions League

Meanwhile, the Nigerian league has just one match remaining to round off the season.
