Enugu Police Rescue Middle Age Woman from Kidnappers

Operatives of the Anti-kidnapping Unit of the Enugu state police command in a combined operation with their colleagues in Nsukka Division have rescued a middle age woman, Madam Veronica Eze who was allegedly abducted last month by yet to be identified gun men.
The state police public Relations Officer PPRO, Ebere Amarizu,(DSP) told African Examiner on Sunday that Madam Eze, was allegedly abducted by the gun men at Amala Orba, in Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu state on 23/11/2013 and was taken to an unknown destination.
“Following her alleged abduction, her abductors started demanding for a ransom of 20 million naira but the state command through its operatives swung into action and trailed the suspects and the victim to a nearby bush located near university of Nigeria Nsukka UNN, where the victim was successfully rescued without payment of any ransom.”
He disclosed that the operatives did not meet the hoodlums on ground at the scene when they struck and rescued the woman on November 28th.
However, the operatives according to him, have commenced intensive manhunt on the perpetrators, with a view to arresting them.
In a related development, a robbery suspect, Kingsley Obike of No 1 Bishop Onyeabor street G.R.A Enugu who was recently arrested, is now helping the operatives of Abakiliki road Division of the state command with vital information.
The suspect was nabbed over his alleged involvement in Armed Robbery on November 29, 2013 by 09.30 hrs in which the victim was allegedly robbed off his phones, and cash to the tune of N22,000 among other things while he was going back home.
“Following a frantic effort by the operatives Kingsley Obike was trailed and arrested with all the Exhibits recovered.” Amarizu stated.
