Enugu Police Recover, Evacuate Unexploded Ordinance Used During Civil War

Operatives of the Anti Bomb Unit of the Enugu state police command have recovered and evacuated an unexploded ordinance also known as UXO from a farmland at Aguobuowa Ezeagu local Government Area of the state.
The state police public Relations Officer PPRO, Ebere Amarizu, who made this known to African Examiner in Enugu Sunday, stated that the unexploded ordinance was suspected to have been used during the Nigeria/Biafran Civil War.
He said the area has been rendered safe by the operatives, just as the state command has renewed its appeal for members of the public not to tamper with any suspected metal object found in a farmland or during road or building constructions.
Such objects when noticed, should immediately be reported promptly to a any nearby police station or the state Anti Bomb Unit for necessary Action.” He advised.
