Enugu Police Command Confirms Investigation On A Man Who Beats His Wife To Death

The Enugu State Police Command has confirmed it has commenced full scale investigation into the circumstances surrounding the beating to death of one Mrs. Angela Oyibo, by her husband Mr. Charles Oyibo.
The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ebere Amarizu, who made this known to AFRICAN EXAMINER Tuesday night in Enugu, the State capital, said “the husband had allegedly on 30/9/15 at Aku town in Igboetiti. Council Area of Enugu state beaten the wife black and blue over a yet to be established issue”.
According to the Command Spokesman, after the severe beating, the deceased was said to have been left in a coma and later, “she was rushed to a nearby hospital by sympathizers.
“It was further gathered that efforts to revive her could not yield positive result as she later died.
“Meanwhile the husband has taken to his heels, just as operatives have intensified manhunt on him.
Amarizu siad: “the suspect is always in the habit of using the wife as a punching bag”.
