Enugu LGA Poll: Bomb Explosions Rock 2 Locations

ENUGU, NIGERIA (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – There was tension in Enugu Saturday morning as bomb explosion rocked two different locations.
AFRICAN EXAMINER gathered that the first incident occurred at a spareparts workshop located at Broderick Street Coal camp, in Enugu North council area, while the second happened at Obeagu community, in Enugu South local government area.
Our Correspondent monitoring the ongoing local government election taking place in the state, observed that the incident scared voters who had converged at the Ekeotu polling unit in Ameachi Awkunanaw to cast their votes .
Ex- Senate President, Chief Ken Nnamani hails from the community.
It was gathered that the state Commissioner of police, Danmalami Mohammed personally led a team of policemen to the scene at Obeagu, after which three suspects were arrested.
However, the State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO Ebere Amarizu, in a statement said the explosion”did not disrupt the voting activities at the polling Centre close to the incident, as the process is still on course there.
“Meanwhile,no life was lost just as operatives of the Explosive Ordinance Department of the Enugu state Command of the Nigeria Police Force were on hand to to conduct analysis with a view to finding out the possible cause of the explosion at the workshop and its nature as well as possible circumstance amongst others” Amarizu stated.
