Sequel to resignation of his former Chief Of staff, Mrs. Ifeoma Nwobodo, Enugu State Governor, Sullivan Chime, has appointed as a successor, Mr. Victor Nnanna Atuonwu.
A statement issued Wednesday by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Patrick Okolo, informed that Atuonwu’s appointment took immediate effect.
Mrs. Nwobodo dropped her resignation letter to contest the state’s Enugu Eastern Senatorial District. The new Chief of Staff prior to his appointment, was the Senior Special Assistant on Investment and Treasury to Governor Chime.
It would be recalled the political ambition of the former Chief of Staff, prompted the travails of the former state Deputy Governor, Sunday Onyebuchi as both of the hail from the same Senatorial district.
Onyebuchi was eventually impeached on accusation of running a poultry in the government quarters, but pundits argued his ordeal was majorly because his political ambition ran contrary to both Chime and his former aide calculation.
